i started with a photo of a small ruler
i then isolated a two pieces in the hex editor and switched them to stagger the ruler
then i built that new ruler using basswood sticks
that was then scanned and live traced in illustrator
and then finally lazer cut

I pushed Dollee into using Bollywood for an assignment! From the movie, Devdas, we extracted a single frame. We glitched the background, rendered it black and white and then lasercut a series of the images. We painted in the images using a variety of techniques and tools (LEDs, board eraser solvent) and here’s our final product:
